Reverse tethering for Android devices

What is reverse tethering? It is the process of sharing your PC’s internet connection to your phone. This can be achieved by using a tool called gnirehtet developed by genymobile. You may think that the name is weird but it is actually the reverse of word tethering. No root access is required and the software works across platforms (MacOS, Linux and windows).

First of all download the latest release from here. Now Navigate to Settings > About Phone > scroll to the bottom > tap Build number (miui users tap on miui version) 7 times. You’ll get a  short pop-up in the lower area of your display saying that you’re now a developer. Now go to developer options and turn on usb debugging and install apps via ADB option. Then download ADB files for your respective OS. Now open terminal and run the following command.

adb devices

This is to authorise your device. Now run

./gnirehtet rt

Now you will a pop-up in your phone saying that gnirehtet wants to start a VPN, click on ok. Now Enjoy!!!
